The CMT 48 TWIN balancer is capable of balancing the rotors in self-supported bearings mounted in the factory turbine bodies. The CMT 48 TWIN balancer is built in such a way that two balancers are built in one housing: CMT 48 tr medium speed and CMT 48 VSR high speed. Thanks to this solution, we achieve a complete balancing centre in one machine for high-speed and medium-speed turbines, e.g. from trucks.
The part of the centre, which uses the mechanics of the CMT 48 tr balancer, is useful in the next stage of turbine regeneration, after replacing bearing rings and seals and after reassembling it to the turbocharger housing. Balancing of turbine rotors takes place in own bearings installed in the factory turbine bodies. The machine is characterized by a very high accuracy of measurement and additional features such as the ability to check the tightness or quality of turbocharger operation. The medium-rotating part is mainly used for dynamic balancing in two planes of turbochargers' rotors of trucks and delivery vans.

The CMT 48 VSR turbocharger balancer is used for high speed turbines. Balancing of turbine rotors takes place in own bearings installed in the factory turbine bodies. This machine is characterized by a very high accuracy of measurement. This type of balancing machines is used when we want to check whether additional dynamic phenomena will occur on the rotor at speeds close to the rated. For example, a "cold" wheel leaving the spinning axis, e.g. due to the deflection of the axle end under the influence of the load of the moment of force. The balancing process is carried out in one correction plane, on the "cold" side, at speeds of up to 280,000 rpm.
The "CMT - 48 VSR Big Twin" balancer is designed in such a way that two balancers are located in one housing. High-speed balancing machine "CMT - 48 VSR Big" for cores of turbochargers for passenger cars, vans and trucks up to the maximum turbine wheel diameter of 110 mm (left side) and double plane balancing machine "CMT - 48 Tr" for cores of turbochargers for trucks, construction and industrial machines up to the maximum core weight of 16 kg, with the function of checking the tightness of all models of cores (right side).
The VTR machine has been developed to regulate the exhaust gas flow geometry according to the original parameters.
The use of this device ensures that the regenerated turbochargers will have properly calibrated geometry. A comprehensive database of parameters contains recommended exhaust gas flow rates for each type of turbochargers. The database is constantly updated and expanded with new parameters.
It is a typical turbocharger, however, appropriately modified in order to obtain better parameters and properties.
Its advantage is the quick response to the accelerator pedal while maintaining a high airflow. Higher efficiency of a hybrid turbocharger allows maintaining the charge pressure over the entire range of engine operation.
